I don't know if it NTP or not but I'm pretty sure the Directv Tivo's get the time from the Satellites.

Pad the show by a minute in your record setup... or use EndPadPlus (see item #13 in this post (http://www.tivocommunity.com/tivo-vb/showthread.php?p=3075079&&#post3075079)). I have a few season passes that always seem to come up short by about 30 seconds so I pad them by one minute.

I think there was couple mythbuster shows.. I'm going to run a test for couple days and see how it runs i'll report soon.

what ever version of rdate is included but the date still gets reset, im gathering because of the satellites time and date, currently the time is 6 hours ahead of me here in Texas central time.

The time is in UTC, Does not affect when things are actually recorded.
