We've never had the spontaneous reboot - until today:
DirecTV Tivo HD with 6.3b in SF Bay Area
Roughly 10pm PT on 1/29/2007
Was watching Prison Break previously recorded, about 20 mins in
Had a SP for KTVU News on 2-1 at 10:00p
Had a SP for Studio 60 on 11-1 at 10:01p

What it seems like is when one of those SPs started, at either 10:00 or 10:01, it spontaneously rebooted our box to Welcome... Powering Up, which took a long time to get us back up and running at around 10:07pm

10 o clock news killed you, as usual...
2.1 is our problem in the bay area...
I disabled 2.1 for a couple of weeks and it was perfect!

I just reinstalled 6.3b from scratch with DVR upgrade
I'll see if 10 o clock news will damage it or not

I posted this in the "Consensus thread last night"

Just had my 1st reboot. Everything had been great, audio drop-outs fixed, speed good, no short recordings......then while channel surfing - a freeze, then reboot.

I hope this is not the beginning of a downward spiral.....

6.3b for about 2 weeks (I think) and no previous problems.

I had mine go last night too (01/29/07). It was also at 10:00 but I'm Central.

Maybe a Guide Data issue?

Last night was my first reboot as well. About 9:30 CST.
But I've posted in another thread that I have been getting the black screen and totally unresponsive TiVo, forcing me to power cycle, for a few weeks now.

Around 9:20 tonight one of my HR10s stopped recording on each tuner, but it stayed on. I realized it was no longer recording, and quickly captured what was in the buffer by pressing RECORD on each tuner. But then the remote stopped responding completely. At 10, when both shows finished recording, the unit still wouldn't respond - not even to the front panel buttons.

After another 15 minutes, I finally pulled the plug and restarted it. Since then, it's now rebooting on its own approximately ever 25 minutes. I'm on my 3rd unassisted reboot now.

It's on the lastest software - 6.3c (going from memory - I know it's "c", but I can't check while it's rebooting ...)

What's the deal?!

Mine rebooted for the first time tonight with 6.3c - channel 2.1 in the Bay Area...and since 6.3 anything I've had tons of issues with 2.1...6.3c got rid of the audio dropouts but instead I get tons of 2-3 second pixelations/freezes...I'm a very patient person in general but I am this close to going to Comcrap which I said I would never do...my HDTivo is crapping out and the HR20 stinks...E* does not have RSNs (which is crucial for me once baseball season starts)...what to do?

Mine rebooted spontaneously last night as well at around 9:45. I wonder if our reboots were are the same time pdawg?

I think mine was around 9:25 actually...it was "the pixelating/freezing until nonresponsive" reboot...

I don't know if this will help anyone else suffering reboot loops, but after my fourth unassisted reboot in an hour an a half last night (one reboot every 25 minutes), I went to Message and Settings > Restart > and restarted the system on my own. After it came back up, I reset the 30-sec skip and moved the menu cursor to the Video menu item on the Settings menu, and went to bed.

I just checked the box, and it apparently hasn't rebooted since my manual reboot last night. The 30 second skip is still enabled, and the Video option is still highlighted in the Settings menu, so hopefully the reboot loop is gone for good!
