Just got a S1 Sony SVR-2000 - what are my limitations? Is mrv available?

Just bought a LT Sony svr-2000. I don't know anything about these machines. It works w/o any issues, but what I'd like to know is do I need to do anything/add to it so I can prevent a future breakdown? I also wanted to know is there a way to enable mrv? I'd like to use this S1 as a backup fr recording conflicts, and xfer the programs to my main S2 box...

ugh...So xfering the LT to an S3 won't help me either, as no mrv yet.

Ok then, so anything I should do to this thing besides upgrade hard drive?

Keep it on a UPS and a modem surge protector.

The difference is that the S1 will never have MRV, but the S3 is expected to have it someday soon.
