Record while watching a show picked up part of previous show

I was matching a show the other day. About 15 minutes in I said "Hey this is interesting!" So I hit record and it started record from the beginning of the buffer. So my recoding also contained contained about 15 minutes of the previous program. The total record time was something like 43 minutes or so.

Now ... am I smokin' crack 'cause I don't remember it working this was before. Is this a new improvement as part of the 6.3 update?

It's not new and it's normal. Seems like a waste of space too. But the program when played back should start at the right time.

Hmm ... I don't remember it working that way before so ... I guess the answer is that I am smokin' crack ;-)
