Ok, I zippered my drive reinstalled it and as soon as it finishes booting it goes to a screen that says the internal temp is too high and it is shutting down. The unit JUST powered up so I know it's not too high. Any thoughts on what's causing this?

Did you take it out of the fireplace?
:)
ok.. not too funny.
Try booting it with the cover off (be very careful).
Sounds like a temperature probe is going bad.

Ok, I pulled the cover and restarted and the exact same thing. Is there a way to bypass the temperature sensors?

The top is off.
I think it's a shot temp probe, but I have no idea if it can be replaced.

had the same issue when i got my 250. read on the hd forum about it might have to do with the hdmi connection. i tightened my hdmi card down (it was a little loose) and haven't had an issue since. i seem to remember some folks started using component.
look in the hd forum and see if anything new has come of this
