Hi All,

Now here's one for someone with a larger brain than mine! I recently successfully or so I thought Upgraded my lovely Tivo to 400gb and a cachecard which is all working great. Tivoweb is up and working along with a few other modules making the beast even more formidable. I have however noticed that my programme data keeps running out despite it saying that the daily calls are successful?

I re ran guided set up today and gained an additional 7days of programme data which seems a bit weird. The other thing that seems wrong is that often it does appear to be awaiting restart and if I do a manual re boot I get the splash screen saying new software is being installed which I find hard to believe.

Is this something to do with running 2.5.5a-01-1-023?

Kernal Info-
Version 2.1.24-TiVo-2.5
Compile #14 Wed Oct 8 12:06:25 MDT 2003

Anyone got any good ideas? As running guided set up every week is going to become a real pain in the ass!

Thank you for your help and advice.
Keep the dream alive!
Cheers,
Richard.

It sounds very like the issue people have when they install 2.5.5a on a new hard disk, but the Tivo servers think they still have 2.5.5.

Each night, when it comes to do the download, it looks up the version on Tivo server (2.5.5), and as it is different from the version currently running (2.5.5a), it tries to download the 'new' software (2.5.5).

When it has downloaded it then fails to 'update' to 2.5.5 as as sees your current version is newer!

If you do not need to record Teletext the easy solution to is phone Tivo customer services and tell them you want the 2.5.5a software due to problems with a new TV.

Once they have updated their servers to supply you with 2.5.5a, then future updates should work fine as everything now matches.

Bit of a washout I'm afraid so I spent the afternoon rebuilding from scratch which at this stage seems OK.

Cheers,
Richard.
