View Full Version : Horribly slow guide?

I've scanned the bug list posts.. but haven't seen this yet..

We just (finally) got our cablecards installed in the S3, so today is the first day I'm really starting to play with it..

Has anyone else had problem with horribly slow guide response? I like to filter by movies, and it's like I push a button, and wait forever --

In fact, I have the guide pulled up (filtered for channels I receive and movies, no subtypes)... pushed the channel down, and counted off 17 seconds before the next screen of results showed. That's VERY un-TiVo'like in my experience.

Is it just my unit, or is this normal for the s3?

You need to wait a couple of hours after doing guided setup. Once it caches the guide for the coming week the speed will improve.

What Andy said. I just recently rebooted after loading an update, and the guide was immediately sluggish. But it got better.

Holy crap. I just changed to movie filter and it paused my TiVo. Then it took three tries to pull up the guide, Then it started painting ever so slowly. Does NOT look normal at all. I'd suggest a wishlist.

Never used Filters before but you're right, turning on Movies as a filter makes it really slow.
