I have networked TiVo. Software version 2.5.5-01-1-023. Been working fine and dialling up via network through wired router. Have TiVoweb installed etc and can telnet in. Can ping out from Tivo. When I make a test call from Tivoweb it succeeds. When I make a daily call however it tries to connect and then fails saying service unavailable. No firewall enabled on the router. Does anybody have any ideas?

I had exactly this problem this last week. On coming back from a holiday yesterday I noticed that tivo had failed to make its call over broadband for the last 5 days. Nothing had changed at this end as I was away, so I assume it was something to do with the orange livebox service. What sorted it for me was totally powering down the broadband router and the tivo (not just doing a restart.) Fingers crossed the solution for you is just as simple.

Power off reboot of Tivo and then a reboot with power on is a good starting point.
Failing that redoing Guided Setup changing to another source like Aerial only and then (if daily call succeeds under that configuration and once indexing is complete) changing back to your original tv platform may well also cure the issue.
These daily call problems seem to have become very common lately. Nobody knows why but rerunning Guided Setup to another platform and then back again usually seems to cure the issue.
