My S3 has been working perfectly since purchased the first week of its release.

But today it has begun a fast judder. I upgraded the disk (via weaknees) early on, and just to check the drive, I changed it back to the original 250g. The judder is there too! So, its not the drive.

It is not the panel becuse dvd plays perfectly without judder.

The cable feed is fine as other panels work perfectly.

Also, sound is NOT suffering judder as the picture is.

Has anyone seen or heard of this? Is the machine bad? Help is appreciated!

Its not just a judder, the picture is actually wobbling.

Anyone see the movie "Jacobs Ladder"? Remember the effect where the main character is tripping out? That is what the picture is doing!

Any help, please!

What channel are you viewing? If it's TNT HD they always have problems like that with their movie broadcasts.

Every channel. HD, standard, every one...

Does it occur on 720p as well as 1080i? try both resolutions to see if there is a difference.

Have you tried swapping out cables? How about a cold-reboot on your TV (unplug it for 5 minutes).

Cables are fine and the TV works perfectly when used for DVD or monitor...

It sure seems like it is a hard drive problem, but it is happening on 2 seperate drives--and just started last night...

Have you tried rebooting THE TIVO, not the TV?

tried rebooting several times to no avail...

We've got the answer!

It was a grounding issue. The unit was plugged into a APC power supply. After a reboot, the wobble was gone!

Thanks to Jeff and the guys at Weaknees for the diagnosis...
