So I updated my SVR-2000 with a 120gb Seagate HD following the Hinsdale instructions and now am stuck on the startup screen. The screen said "You went from 33 hours to 163 hours blah blah SUCCESS!" so im not really sure what went wrong. Anyone have any tips for me? If you need to know more info. just ask?

Did you run copykern after the restore?

No I didnt. How do I go about doing that? Did I miss it in the instructions or something?

Right after the mfsrestore is completed then run these steps:
mountcd
copykern
follow the directions from copykern, unmount, shut down and you should be in business.

This may be a dumb question but can you point me towards those directions please?

Wait I never did a mfsrestore. I did a mfsadd. I must have missed a vital step. All i did was stick the primary hd in as is and the new upgrade hd in brand new as is and did the mfs add command. Dont tell me I screwed everything up. Now how do I go about making it right?

Sorry I misinterpreted your original post as replacing your original drive with another rather than adding it. Since I only replace drives and don't add them I am not familiar enough with MFStools to know whether copykern needs to be run in this case or not. Since all hard drives are going to fail, it is easier to diagnose TiVo problems if there is just one drive in the unit rather than two. With large hard drives relatively cheap these days one hardly needs two drives. There can also be a heat issue with two drives.

So I redid everything and now im to the point where I run the
mfsadd -x /dev/hdc /dev/hdb command and it says.......
mfs_load_volume_header: Total Sectors (57707520) mismatch with volume header(292139008)
mfs_load_volume_header: Loading anyway
mfs_load_zone_map: Primary Zone map corrupt, loading backup
mfs_load_zone_map: Secondary Zone map corrupt, giving up.
mfs_load_zone_map: Zone map checksum error!
Unable to open MFS drives
What exactly does this mean? If anybody has some input, PLEASE let me know. I want my TiVo back!!!!!
