I haven't had to reset the 30 second skip for over a week.
I think my last reboot was a week ago Friday or Saturday.
Are you sure you aren't having power problems?

It sounds like your drive is going.
I would go pick up a new HD ASAP and download the software and try to set up a new drive as soon a possible. If you hurry you may be able to use the old HD for the software image.
good luck,

Agreed. I think your problems are more serious, Bob. The problems with the Guide Data causing random reboots should have been solved by now. But make sure that your Tivo has phoned home recently.

I haven't phoned in for over 4 months..I now have Voicewing (VOIP) up stairs and it would be very difficult to get a line to my Tivo the way I have it set up. If I was sure that was the problem then I could rewire my VW to get a line down stairs but it would be a job. I thought the re programing was being done by satellite ?? Are you sure the phone in would help ????

Far as I know from reading other message threads, there has not YET been a software update related to the bad guide data... just a revert to the old data format
>thought the re programing was being done by satellite
Again from reading here... the update (when there is one) is sent by satellite but it won't INSTALL until the unit phones home to get the "trigger" OK to do the work

So what version software does your DVR have?

Finally was able to get my VOIP to phone in. The problem I think was solved by slowing down the modem with the *019 prefix.. I did call DT* several times about theVOIP problem but didn't get
that much help but was offered a new R15 which I refused. They were aware of the reboot and VOIP problems and I was transferred to a group that was handling the problem
My software version before phoning in was 6.2-01-2-351 and remained the same after phoning in
Could it be I had the most recent software change but it wasn't activated because I didn't phone in ???
I didn't have any reboots over night so it will take a couple days before I know if I'm out of trouble.

Now that the guide data does not contain the problem, forcing the phone call and then re-booting causes the guide to re-index and rid itself of the error messages that it has been writing that are causing your re-booting.

So you are saying that because I have phoned in I shouldn't have any more problems ??
Haven't had any since last night. Haven't gone this long in a couple of weeks.

Haven't had any since last night. Haven't gone this long in a couple of weeks.Re-set the unit if you haven't already since the phone call (it will be enough to do a simple re-set from the menu or you can just push the red button behind the hinged door on the front of the unit) and you shouldn't have the problem any longer.
