Just a reminder that regular programming will be preempted Tuesday night. Depending on your timezone and how long the speech is, you may get some filler programming. Don't count on the start time of the filler shows, in case the speech is short or long.

CBS is already anticipating it being shorter than the 2 hours scheduled.

Should be 1/23. Seems unlikely the speech (or the entire time blocked for it) will run long, the networks all get advance copies of these speeches, and usually plan on the opposing party response and talking head commentary, etc. Of course, you never know.

D'oh! I typoed the date. Could a moderator fix that? I can't edit the thread title.

On the West Coast, it looks like the only (interesting, IMHO) new thing showing up is an hour long American Idol. Our ABC station is showing some (presumably locally scheduled) movie, NBC is showing a couple of Datelines (one new)..

I posted a new thread before noticing this one already existed.

CBS has changed the entry for the State of the Union tonight. Of course, it's likely that the president will have his own timetable. If you are going to record the speech, and your DVR receives the updated schedule, you may want to pad the ending.

Add

In case anyone is interested, HDNet is carrying the address in HiDef.

I went to my ToDo list and it was gone. MSNBC went down to one hour. Bush is not a bloviator so I figure 45 minutes for the speech and then the Democrat response.
