Random Issue

So I have had my tivo for 2 weeks and its awesome. But today I was watching live tv and it randomly restarted. Is this an issue other people have? I didn't lose power because I have all of my electronics on a battery backup. Can anyone give me a clue as to what happened. thanks

Well, this does sometimes happen, but rarely in a new TiVo. It's usually caused by a problem with the hard disk. I'd say if it happens again, get it replaced under warranty.

Did it restart to install an update at 2 AM? If it is a new Tivo there is a high chance it had old software and did an update for 8.1. I would think you may mention it in your post, but maybe you were tired and didn't want to have it boot up so you just turned off the TV and went to bed.

I dont think it was an update because it happened at like 8pm. So I guess I have to not worry about it unless it happens again. Thanks
