I recently upgraded to HD with the Dish 622 receiver. Im running it in dual mode, where you can run 2 tvs from the same receiver. The other tv is in a room across the house.
I need to know how to hook up my TIVO to the second tv. I cant seem to figure it out. The satellite signal goes to the second tv through coax cable. I hooked the coax to the TIVO and then the TIVO to the tv, but it doesnt seem to recognize the channels somehow. What am I doing wrong?

Isn't the 622 a DVR? Why would you want to have one DVR be the source for another?

This forum should interest you.

The 622 receiver is an HD DVR which I have hooked up to my HD tv. The other tv is not HD and its the roomates tv. I dont want to fight him for DVR space, plus the 622 has issues.
Anyway, since upgrading, now I have an extra TIVO that I want to hook up to the other tv. I need to know if this can be done.

Txpaperboy;

The second Tuner in your ViP 622 can not be controlled by a TiVo (the same is true for any of dishnetworks duel tuner STBs). You should be able to use the TiVo like a VCR but you would have to tell the TiVo your signal source was OTA and then leave the TiVo on what ever channel the ViP 622 is broadcasting on. You would change the channels with the 622's second remote and only be able to schedule manual records with the TiVo and have to change the channel ahead of time with the 622's remote.

If you actually want to use your TiVo as a TiVo you would need another dish STB located at your second TV.

Good Luck,

You could get a regular Dish receiver and use it as the source for the TiVo.
