View Full Version : Does your S.A. Cable card give a "RF IP addr"?

I'm still trying to get to the bottom of my problems with Comcast provisioning my CableCARDs for digital/premium channels. Its been going over 11 days now (consuming a few hours every evening -- not to mention my endless posting here).

So, when you go into the diagnostics screen for your S.A. card, does it say "RF IP addr: none yet". Or does it say something else?

One of the earlier techs who visited told me that it only says that because these CableCARDs are only unidirectional. Made sense to me, but I just wanted to see what others have on their S3s.

Anything I can check for you with Moto cards?

Someone responded to a similar question saying that is the case... it's for use when in a 2-way device.

I'll be able to tell you from personal experience sometime on Monday when Comcast comes out to install the 2 CableCards they didn't bring this past Thursday in my Series3. As the DVR's they use here are fropm Scientific Atlanta, I'm expecting the CableCards will be as well.

Mike

RF IP address will always be "none" because this is a single way device. That's why the current version of cablecards cannot process video on demand, for example. Your tech is absolutely correct.
