New Guy Questions, not found....

Here Goes:

1. The Wife is watching live(shame!!)TV. A scheduled recording starts. What will happen? I have a S2 DT w/ Time Warner Digital, but I heard that analog cable in NYC area is going to stop or did already.
2. When I make changes to Online Scheduling, do I need to make a "forced" landline call to catch my newly added shows?

1. If she's watching an analog channel, then the other channel will start recording on the other tuner. It shouldn't affect her. If she's watching a digital channel, I believe a warning will come up stating that it is about to change to a scheduled recording. I don't have digital cable, so I might be off on some of the finer points.

2. If you are using the phone line for updates, then your online scheduling will only get to your tivo when it calls in. If you want it immediately, then you should force a connection. If in the future you'd like to network your computer to a broadband internet connection, then the online scheduling usually gets to your tivo within 20 minutes.

That's what you'd think should happen, but it doesn't necessarily work that way. It just happened to me a couple of days ago that my DT Tivo wanted to change the channel on the tuner I was watching to record something.
