I have a Panasonic 720P television--
Should I output my Tivo in native resolution or should I have it all outputed at 720P

I have my S3 set for 720p fixed. Otherwise my TV goes wacky as it changes resolution. But then I gt acheap Westinghouse HDTV.
I would test it with fixed and with Native to see which looks better. It's possible the S3 has a better upconverter/rescaler than the TV.
Or the other way around.
I am using HDMI an haven't tried using component instead.

I would concur... I have a Panasonic 26" LCD whose native resolution is 720p...
and 720p fixed works best for me

How good is the scaler in your TV? Does it scale all resolutions or does it have a problem with some of them?
You need to answer those questions to know what is best.
Try both and see what you think.

I tried both with my Panasonic T.V. and with HD --it looks fine--and when I go back to regular T.V. like Jon Stewart on the Comedy Channel, there is far less distortion --the images are far less squished.

This is my thinking:
If you set the Tivo to "native" what you're doing is letting your T.V/ (or projector) do the scaling--
If you set the Tivo to 720P and your T.V. is 720P--the Tivo is doing the scaling--
In my case, I think my Panasonic has a better scaler--

I do native with my S3 connected to a VP50 scaler but have it on 720P fixed with the one connected to an HP LCD set.
