Tivo S2 Pixelation only on some channels

Hi..

I'ev got two Tivo's one Humax and one S2. My S2 is pixelating to the point of not being able to watch shows - but strangely only on two channels Fox and NBC. Rebooting does not fix the problem. I've got straight cable from Cox (Rhode island area). coming in - so no cable card or Direct TV. When I go direct and skip the TIVO box the signal looks find on my TV?

Any ideas?!

I have this same problem on my DirecTv HDVR2 ! In addition to the same two channels you get it on, it also happens on HGTV and DIY for me. It started in mid-December at the same time my HDVR2 started random reboots. Suspecting an impending hard drive failure, I replaced it with a new 160G from DVRupgrade. The pixelating stopped for about two weeks, then slowly started again. Now some shows I regularly record are nearly unwatchable.

I gave up calling DirecTV for technical support years ago. They're useless. They always offer the same two solutions -- get a new/refurbished box or do a clear and delete all. Neither ever worked. I've tried to solve it myself, but so far no go.

I checked every cable connection from the LNBs on the dish to the DTivo. I have a clear view of the southern sky and signal strengths on both tuners mostly in the 85-100 range on all three satellites. I've also switched the cables between the two tuners. It still pixelates on the same channels and shows, but doesn't ever do it on live TV. Very strange !

The pixelation is actually in the recorded data. I've downloaded the shows to my PC and when I play them they pixelate in the same places as it did on the DTivo.

I too would like to know where else to look for a solution to this problem. My wife is a real Tivo addict and is about to kill me.
