Missing program guide for some channels

After installing my series3 Tivo I was missing "Program Guide" information for many channels. After 4 calls to Tivo I finally found someone that knew how to fix the problem. The problem was that I was set up for "Basic programming", not "Extended programming". This can be fixed ONLY by pressing the "Enter" key instead of the "Select" key when you get to the screen where it says "It is going to ask a series of questions" during the program setup. This pops up a hidden screen where you have the chance to select "Extended" programming. I really don't know why they hide this and most people at Tivo don't know how to do this. It resolved my problem.

You can do this by:

1. Go to Messages/Settings
2. Go to Channels
3. Press Enter ...brings up ability to reset channels
4. At screen where it says it will ask additional questions press Enter instead of Select
5. Select the "extended basic" and complete rest of the setup

It's actually a glitch, and there's an easier fix.

When going through Guided Setup, it usually says it is going to ask you about certain channels you receive. When the first channel pops up (such as Channel 35), it asks you what channel it is. Select the first option (for me, it says something like "Channel 35 is LOCAL ACCESS 35"). If you select that instead of "I don't receive this channel", you'll get the guide data.

Like I said, definitely a glitch. Others have had the same problem.
