With the new Motorola Comcast Tivo box coming out, will it be possible to upgrade these units from the current 120 or 160 gb hard drives? As long as you returned the box with original drive in it, it shouldnt be a big deal. I am on the fence of a series 3 and I am waiting to see what the Comcast Tivo will offer.

And they seem to take box tampering seriously: link (http://archive.tivocommunity.com/tivo-vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=138215).

Another (legal) scenario is that tivo/comcasts enables external (usb/firewire/esata) storage on these boxes.
