Hi,

I have a SD-DVR40 and I just want to have the capability to transfer programs to my PC What is the easiest way to do this? Do I have to get a new HD or can I use the existing one?

Zipper is a start. Yuo can use the drive you have.

Do I have to make the image of the drive then? Once zipper is installed , can I access using the usb port and/or wireless usb? Also, my software says version 3.11. Do I have to upgrade to 6.2? I have not connected in awhile due to vonage.

Yes, you'll need 6.2 to run the Zipper (http://www.tivocommunity.com/tivo-vb/showthread.php?t=265929)

You can use wired or wireless USB adapters to connect the Tivo - but note only certain adapters are supported - see the list here (http://www.thewallens.net/Zipperwiki/index.php?title=Tips_and_Tricks)
