I'm trying to get my cable cards to work, but am having no luck.

I see other people have in their CP Screen the setting "MKS period: 60 seconds" or "MKS period: 100 seconds"

My cablecards say 2000 seconds!! (That's 33 minutes).

Does anybody think this might be part of the problem? Anybody know what the MKS period is for?

Nope - don't think that would be part of the problem. I'm pretty sure this is a key that gets exchanged between the card & host for copy protected content. So, this value is how ofen the card is changing the key.
