I didn't catch that. Looks like they didn't update the info on the website or the price is only good in-store.

It's showing up as $169.99 for me....
And it says:
Limit 2 per Household.
(when purchased between 01/10/2007 and 01/21/2007)
I do see the notation:
PRICE GOOD TILL 11/28/06 MIDNIGHT
PRODUCT AVAILABLE TO SHIP 11/25/06
But I think that is just old notes that never got removed.
It let me put it in my cart....so I believe the price is good.

How does the NOISE on these $169.95 Fry's 500GB Seagate 7200.9 ST3500641A-RK drives compare to the specialized "Consumer Electronics" $209.95 500GB 7200.3 ST3500830ACE drives that Seagate and Weaknees (http://www.weaknees.com/pdf/db35.pdf) both state are designed SPECIFICALLY for DVRs (quieter, use less power, produce less heat, handle multiple DV streams better)?
I know first hand what a HUGE difference in operational noise different Seagate HD models can be... I had to remove a brand new 250GB Seagate 7200.8 ST2500623Q-RK drive I bought last month from Best Buy for one of my HR10-250s because it chattered incessantly. What's really interesting is I purchased two 250Gb Seagate 7200.10 ST3250820A "Perpendicular Recording Technology" drives from BestBuy.com and installed them in my other HR10-250 and they are are MUCH quieter than the identical size 7200.8 Seagate drive and SOMEWHAT quieter than the 250Gb Seagate 7200.9 ST3250824A drive that was just installed by the TiVo repair facility in one of my HR10-250s.
Bottom line: DON'T buy a Seagate 7200.8 drive for your TiVo if you want a QUIET drive... Buy a Seagate 7200.10 or DB35 hard drive instead!

Someone please let me know how QUIET these Fry's Seagate 500Gb 7200.9 drives are after you've installed them in your DVR, especially in comparison to the newer Seagate 7200.10 and DB35 series "Perpendicular Recording Technology" drives. Needless to say these $169.99 Fry's drives are a GREAT price in comparison to the MUCH more expensive ($241.91 w/ tax + shipping) DB35 drives. Thanks!
