View Full Version : Stops recording for no reason?

So I know I'm being hit, like most of you, with the Season pass issue. But now it's getting pretty weird that shows that are actually being recorded stop recording after about 40 minutes (not all programs, but it's definitely happened more than once). At first I thought it might have been a reboot or a power outage, but the program that recorded on the other tuner was fine.
Is this part of the numerous bugs that are supposedly being worked on as we speak? Has anyone else had this happen to them?
These issues suck. I tried asking for a credit for my Tivo service since it's not working correctly. All they could give me was Starz and Showtime free for 6 months. Too bad I don't watch many of the movie channels.

I haven't had this happen, but that's not to say it isn't related to the other problems we have seen lately.
Any hints in the Recording History?

I haven't seen any evidence that this is connected to the fall update bugs, but I can't say for sure. I'm having the classic issues since the fall update; spontaneous TIVO reboots, and transfers which stop at 1MB, when TIVO thinks it's done with the transfer.
I have to call TIVO support again myself. I had the wife call from work and they acted like they had no knowledge of any TIVO problems since the fall update. They treated her like an idiot.
I think if you call and tell them you don't want movie channels you want compensation, and threaten to discontinue TIVO service you'll get what your looking for. I know at least one person who got 2 months refunded, and future months until these problems are worked out.

No, no hints at all in the recording history. Though a lot of interesting things are showing up there. The future recordings (all) in the To Do list are being marked as not being recorded as it has already been recorded in the last 28 days. Even first runs! This is horrible!

I posted this on another thread, but feel it's appropriate here as well, in case someone has answers:
OK, I use 3.1 and I had an instance of SP problem that I have never had. TiVo was supposed to record House, didn't, and when I got home late last night, it said it was STILL SCHEDULED TO RECORD, even though supposed time to record was four hours earlier. Lucky enough for me, it still recorded in SD on back room TiVo. (Glad I was too lazy to take it off SP back there.)
