So I need some help here boys and girls...

Been a TiVo user for 9 years but 3 weeks ago got my first HD TV and TiVo. It worked great for three days then I left town for the holidays and when I came back I have issues.

The issues are as follows:

Stuttering video (not digital pixelation just like it can't keep up) (biggest problem)at this point it takes the TiVo a few minutes to recognize any input from the remote (like the Now Playing button)

Video Dropout
Audio Stuttering (with NO video problems at all)
HDMI out seems to have short in it as well (not related I don't think but thought I should mention)
Two random restarts

Here are the particulars:

ONLY ONLY ONLY in Now playing stuff
Live TV buffer has NONE of these problems
Never repeatable
HD or SD does not matter
Doing the stutter on movies I previously watched with no problems.
Hard drives are not full but filling up a bit.

Still 6.03a and it is upgraded to 83 hours of HD and over 500 SD hours. (tivo suggestions are the majority of the recordings!)

Sorry, you've got some bad spots on your HD. It would cause all of the behavior you mentioned. Eventually, it will affect your live buffer as well.

Hmmmm...are you sure?

This does not seem like a hard drive problem at all. Usually that appears with pixelation not stutters. Also, it would be repeatable, right? All the items I mentioned in the previous post will be fine for a bit and then appear again.

Do you think it could be a bad spindle instead of just bad blocks or something??? That would be new to me.

I guess overall the drive would be the easiest to replace (and one of few replaceable parts) so should I hope it is that? Not a fun thing to desire.

I will have to see what happens and try to watch the shows I have recorded before one or both of the drives crap out!!!!!!
