I have had an original HR10-250 since they came out. A friend GAVE me his HR10-250 when he acquired the newer HR20 (he couldn't receive OTA locals prior to that due to line of site issues).

My 2nd D* receiver is an older SD one. I was thinking of swapping it out for this gifted HR10-250; even though the TV on that receiver is NOT HD. (Just to get the TIVO ability).

So, my Q is: Will D* allow me to do this easily, or will they attempt to screw me with a new "contract" of some sort??? Oh, I am a A-list Premium subscriber if that makes any difference. (about 10 years)

Thanks all.

I have heard it both ways. You might try to put your old card in the new machine, call them tell them that you got a replacement and want to get it married to the card.

I recently purchased a second HR10-250. D* required me to purchase a new access card for $20, but they did not require an additional 2 year contract.
