Forgot to post a thread so we can talk about everything without worrying over spoilers. :)
Except for the somewhat cheesy way they introduced a way to segue into another season of the show, I enjoyed it. The series definitely got better over time -- maybe it was more just that we had to become familiar with the characters before we really coudl get into the meat of the story.

Yeah...they way they showed Knapp's escaped foe was a setup for a Season 2, but it didn't leave me stunned that I would never know what happened. And you could see that Delroy Lindo's character was going to start working with Knapp.
We'll never know, but I wonder how fans of this show would have liked another season without Timothy Hutton or Dana Delaney. Persoanlly, I have seen Hutton do better work, but I thought Delaney did a good job.
I am glad NBC let this play out over the net...so no "burn in hell" comments from me. i do think that they could have told the story as a miniseries in 6 or 8 hours and I think they would have grabbed and held more viewers had they done so (and launched later in the season after all the Sept premieres.)

After NBC canceled it, I tried keeping up with the streamed episodes on NBC's web site, but missed two weeks and just gave up, since NBC didn't have prior episodes.
Anyone want to fill me in on "who did it"? Also:
Did the kid make it home safe?
Anyone significant die?
Were any FBI agents or household staff in on the kidnapping or simply feeding info to the bad guys?

Drew...if you enjoyed the show, the online episodes are worth watching (unlike most that get cancelled and streamed) as the story is brought to a close.
EDIT: Aaagh...I can't post a link...not enough posts.
Google: nickhalloway...it should be the first link.

I'll give it a shot, but I'm not sure how patient I can be with hours of streaming content in tiny windows on my PC! :)

You can always download the torrents; at least if you have a DVD player that can handle DivX files, you can watch from the comfort of your living room rather than in front of your PC. :)

 Good point...I didn't think of that...I have my 32" LCD hooked to the computer as a second monitor, so just dragged the browser window onto it and watched that way.
Enjoy the episodes!
P.S. Had to edit your quote above...still not enough posts for it to go thru for me. ;)

I just watched the last 6-7 episodes over the last few days. I thought it was really quite good: I didn't figure out that the FBI guy was behind it until earlier in the episode where they revealed it (episode 12)... not bad! I also wasn't sure that the kidnapping and the IA investigation were part of the same plot until that episode. Did they ever find Vance? I kept waiting for them to come across his dead body in the basement as well.
One thing that annoyed me: after being an avenging angel and unloading a ton of butt whippings, Virgil just sits down and dies without any obvious wounds or anything... WTH? I half expected them to explain that the pill he took was poisoned or something, although that would have been depressingly weak. They should have at least done the cliched opening of the jacket to reveal a hitherto unknown but obviously mortal wound bleeding all over the place, but they didn't even do that. Bizarre.

i thought torrent links were banned?
i forgot this would even be on. I think this, smith and a bunch of other ones just went out of my memory banks around Christmas. I did watch the rest of vanished though.
when you do the divx thing, is it in worse PQ than if you watched it on your PC? I didnt know if the 'hi def' tiny window was that much worse than an SD image on my 57 incher

I download Divx torrents all the time, burn them to DVD and watch them on my 110 inch front projector. Much better than watching Directv SD content, I can tell you that much.

I downloaded the torrents a couple of weeks ago, at Doug's suggestion, and am embarrassed to admit I forgot all about them! Not sure when I'll watch them ...
