I have had multiple occurances of football games not completely recording. I'm guessing it's related to the length of the recording.
Last night was most recent occurance. I was recording Nat'l Championship game on both SD satellite channel and HD ota channel. Both stopped at around same time (right at end of first half).
I know receiver didn't restart because 30 skip is still active.
I'm still on 6.3a. Is this a known problem with 6.3a? I also have the dolby audio drop problem real bad, so I'm pretty sick of 6.3a. Will I ever get 6.3b?

maybe you ran out of recording space on the hard drive

Did the unit reboot at that time?
I was having similar problem MANY times per day on 6.3b.
Short recording, random reboots and sometimes it says the recording was cancelled by someone in your housefold. That one is really funny since I am the only user of this box.
I gave up and reloaded 3.15f and blocked the upgrade from occuring.
I once again have a reliable TiVo ( just a little slower and no folders)

There is a problem with 6.3x. If the drive is full (even with suggestions) it will stop recording. It should delete a suggestion or the oldest recording flagged to be deleted but it does not. Try to delete what you can including the suggestions. For the time being I have turned off suggestions on my machines running 6.3.

Thanks. I imagine I was out of space. It stinks that there is now a bug where old stuff is not automatically deleted. 6.3 is making me think about moving on to the HR20.

There must be more to it than that or everyone with Suggestions turned on would be having short recordings. I have Suggestions on both my 250's (both are 6.3a) and no short missed/recordings. I have not had either drive full with "my" recorded programs while on 6.3a so don't know if it would drop recordings then or not.

Some recordings work. It seems you only get short recordings when the drive is full. I also think the short recordings are happening with the OTA channels.

My drive is no where near full and I have had plenty of short recordings that are not OTA. Just another issue with this lovely 6.3x update.

OK, I use 3.1 and I had an instance of SP problem that I have never had. TiVo was supposed to record House, didn't, and when I got home late last night, it said it was STILL SCHEDULED TO RECORD, even though supposed time to record was four hours earlier. Lucky enough for me, it still recorded in SD on back room TiVo. (Glad I was too lazy to take it off SP back there.)

I have noticed that when an episode is on more than once (don't know if this is the case with House), that sometimes it doesn't pick the first airing to record. This drives me crazy with This Old House when it happens because it will often record episode n+1 and sometimes even n+2 before recording an airing of episode n.
-- still on 3.1.5f, but drooling over folders after seeing them on my parent's S2.
-- also wishing I had gone to digital cable instead of DTV.

Ah. Maybe, because I think it was on twice the other night. I'll check.

Happening to me too :( Didn't record a soccer game I scheduled. Then, it stopped recording in the middle of 24 last night (fortunately, I was watching at the time so it didn't matter).

Happened to me recording 24 OTA from the NY Fox affiliate on Monday night, 32 minutes into the first of the two shows. Also on v6.3b

It happened to me with American Idol, both nights, 48 minutes in each night. Is there a fix coming? Does DTV even know about this among all the other bugs they've been downloading to our HR10's?

Just noticed a few minutes ago that I only had 8 minutes of the 8 HOURS of coverage of the Barrett-Jackson Auto Auction on Speed. I'm glad I checked before heading out for the day!
6.3b -- drive(s) nowhere near full
Believe it or not, lately my HR20 is my "bulletproof" DVR....go figure
