After over 4 years of loving my Series 2, I came home tonight and the lights on both sides of the unit were blinking. I turned on the tv, and nothing - blank black screen. Pushing the tivo button on the remote does nothing.
I unplugged the unit, waited and plugged back in and now there are two solid yellow lights that stay on. I tried the unit on a different tv and same results. I tried a different remote (I have one other series 2 tivo) and same lack of response.
I can't find any other posts with my exact problem. I have a lifetime subscription on this unit so I hate to lose it.
Any ideas? Thanks!

Give us the model of your TiVo, if its a Humax it most likely the power supply, they are not easy to find.

The model is TCD140060.
I moved the Tivo again, and now noticed that the 2 yellow lights are actually a yellow and green light on the left and a yellow and red light on the right. Still no picture of any sort.

this sounds like a bad power supply.
Does the model number start with TCD1xxxx ?
If so, they have a known problem with a capacitor going bad in the power supply. A replacement power supply can be sourced for about $70 + shipping or the $4 capacitor can be replaced by someone comfortable with a soldering iron.
do a search for "capacitor" , I've posted elsewhere detailed instructions on diagnosis and repair for the electronics savvy.
If for some reason you can't fix it, even dead units with lifetime subs are getting $200 on eBay thanks to the series 3 lifetime transfer offer.

Cormode and lessd, Thanks for your help...
I installed a new power supply and my TIVO is back up and running again!
