Well who didn't see Alma moving in. I liked Mike meeting a new friend in prison. Julie got cheated on. At least that part is like real life.

How did I beat Doug to a Housewives thread? :D

Mike meeting Paul in prison, and having no recollection of who he is, is funny.

They are doing yeoman's work attempting to hide Marcia Cross' pregnancy. They showed her stomach when she quickly turned around during the dinner party sequence, but otherwise, they did a good job. They hid her behind a desk mirror in one scene. I laughed out loud. It was like I was watching Home Improvement with the neighbor's face.

So, did Alma kill Monique? Did Orson's mother? What is the relationship between those two? And, if Orson framed Mike for Monique's murder, why did he do that if he's not the murderer (and, before that, why did he try to kill Mike with the car)? Because he doesn't like Mike? If so, why not? Probably something to do with Orson's being institutionalized back then, and Mike beginning to remember him from somewhere (possibly the same institution where Zach Young's birth mother was, and where Mary Alice worked).

This is becoming a one-thumb-up show for me.

I still like it, but after all the histrionics and the supermarket shooting, it seems DANGEROUSLY close to jumping the shark. I might bail if they don't do a good job explaining what happened to Monique.

Nice little twist to see the Identikit bad boy sleeping with Miss Van Der Tramp instead of Susan's daugher

This seemed like a lot of foundation building. Not a strong episode on it's own, IMHO.

Anyone got a screenshot of when Edie's nephew (Julie's boyfriend) was standing in the window with his wifebeater on, gazing at Julie?

What's Paul in prison for? Neither of us could remember.

I'm pretty sure it's the murder of Mrs. Huber.

No. Mrs. Huber's sister chopped off her own fingers, left them where they incriminated Paul, and then disappeared. He got away with killing Mrs. Huber but was put away for something he didn't actually do.

Anyone else get about a minute of an annoying popping/crackling sound, at somewhere a little over halfway into the show?

I got it. I watch on the LA HD-feed.

I got a giggle from Andrew's "he's not gay even after 3 beers" line.

Why did Alma inject herself with something?

Or insulin, but we're supposed to think, for now, that maybe she's a junkie?

Living with a diabetic, I can say that would have been a lot of insulin.

I had no idea Marcia Cross was pregnant! So yes, great job! (Or I just wasn't watching closely ...)

Here are my questions:

Did Lynette quit her job when hubby decided to open the pizza parlor? How does she have time in the middle of the day to drag all of the kids to a restaurant?

Does anyone even remotely care about Susan and British-guy?

How long before Carlos and Gabby start secretly sexing each other up again, with Gabby too ashamed/embarrassed to tell her friends?

How long before Bree and Susan make-up?

Didn't she get fired because of her boss having her send sexually explicit material to his wife?

Nope. Just filler until she and Mike get back together. The British guy is Dougray Scott by the way, who came very close to being Wolverine. Its funny you call him that British guy. :D

I don't think it will be secret. I think Gabby will do it and try to claim there are no feelings behind it.

How long before Bree and Susan make-up?

Next season is my bet. I would love to see some major backstabbing though if the writers can pull off some humorous stunts.

Nope that is how her dh lost his job, he took the fall for it. I bet her boss is letting her be flexable because of the new kid.

I'm assuming that they probably also gave her some extra time off to deal with the fall-out of the grocery store hold-up. Physical recovery, mental recovery, and dealing with the extra kid.

Her boss told her to take as much time off as she needed, with pay. Sort of like the arrangement Homer Simpson has with his employer - only go to work if needed to further the plot. Otherwise, stay home and let highjinks ensue.

my favorite line:

Tom: "So we're not havin' sex?"
Lynette: "Hey — you banned me from YOUR opening."

Those comments probably belong in the thread for 1/14/07 or should be spoilerized since someone reading this thread might not have seen the episode those quotes come from.

I'm embarrassed that I'm still watching. Andrew is my favorite character.
