Hello,
I have a Series 2 unmodified for almost 3 years now. Recently we have noticed that it is rebooting quite a bit. Last night it rebooted 3 times while recording a show (so the show is in three parts, with minutes missing where the reboot happens). This seems to be happing a lot. I read in another post that something was added with 8.1 that causes the Tivo to reboot when it is running low on resources or getting slow. Is this "feature" what is causing my problems. Having the box reboot several times a day is a real problem. My second part of my question is about the life of the boxes. Is three years where I am started to just have drive failures that is causing the problems? Could the box be on its last leg and need to be replaced? Is there any tools out there I can use to test the box to see if it is going bad?
