I bought a new HD TV for Christmas and changed from WOW analog cable to Comcast digital. I don't want to run the Tivo through the cable box (Motorola 6200). I am content to get the 99 analog channels which Comcast says I should get through the unmodified Tivo. So, I put a Monster splitter on the cable out of the wall and ran one split to cable box, one to Tivo. Ran guided setup to change from WOW to Comcast with no cable box providing signal to Tivo.

Problem: I can see Tivo screen and commands on the TV, but no video or sound on all but three channels. These channels are duplicates in the sense my Tivo Channel settings, for example show two channel 4's. One is the local station, WDIV (correct) and one is some local access shown as "EC004". I can't see WDIV. I can see the local access, with very lousy picture. Same with channel 2 -- I have two channel 2's but not the right one. i have several other channels (correct) with a duplicate access or "LOC023" listing (wrong), but with no picture. If try to watch another channel, I get the Tivo message that it lost my cable signal.

Neither Comcast, Tivo or Humax has been able to help me. There is no problem with the splitter -- I hooked the Tivo up directly last night to the cable from the wall. Same problem.

My wife is upset that she can't Tivo her soaps. If she's unhappy, I'm unhappy.

Are you in rather urban Detroit? Does analog Comcast work on your TV fine? If the answer as Yes,No, then you are bitten by the cable TV pirates that ruined it for everybody else, and your fix is to get a second cable box for the TiVo.

Suburban Detroit. I spent three hours on the phone last night being passed between Tivo and Humax. This now appears to be the problem. I have the Comcast lineup and information downloaded onto the Tico. But the Tivo is showing over a dozen duplicate channels -- two channel 2's. two channel 3's. two channel 7.'s. etc. One the correct one, one a community/school/city access signal that is not supposed to be on those channels. When I go to live TV, I get no video (other than the Tivo info) except on the channels where I have duplicates. There, on either of the duplicate channel 7's, I see the Clawson schools channel which is supposed to be in the 60's. I think if I get rid of the duplicates, the rest of the problem will fix itself. Comcast says there is no reason that I should not be able to see the 99 analog channel on the Tivo.
