Ok, so I know this is an old-school mentality and an obsolete format, but I want to do it. I bought a license for Tivo Desktop, and it is just too slow and unreliable. I would love to return it for a refund, but I don't think I can. Anyway, I want to save programs to VHS tape, but I don't know how to connect the Tivo properly to make this happen. Is there a diagram posted somewhere that shows how to hook this up? I have the following devices, and it gets kind of confusing:
Tivo
VCR
Neuros Recorder
Digital Cable Box
DVD Player
Game System #1
Game System #2
These are all going into a Radio Shack switch through RCA cables. Thanks for any guidance you can provide!

A/V out on the TiVo to A/V in on the VCR. Set your A/V selector to VCR, and the VCR to the A/V input.

Can you watch another recorded program, or have the Tivo record while this is being transfered to VHS?
I've thought about doing this. But then I thought I'd spring for a DVD recorder. But when I browse all the recorders, I see the more expensive ones have Hard Drives.
Could the Tivo transfer faster to DVD recorders with Hard Drives?
I'd hate to spend the money and find out I can't do this.
Anyone got any advice on the best way to save programs to DVD?

You cannot watch more than one recording at a time. So since the VCR or DVD recorder are essentially "watching" you can't watch a second program. When I record to my DVD recorder I do it just before going to bed or when going out for a while. Or if home, I just watch using a different DVR. These transfers are in realtime.

Ah...I understand now.
I just thought it could (somehow) be done digitally to a DVR's Hard Drive.

Although you can't watch something else, it will continue to record while Saving to VCR.

Thanks guys - I am going to set it all up this weekend with my new Neuros recorder and will let you know how it turns out. Now after all of this, they release a Mac version of the software - the PC version was just too unreliable, but now I am tempted to try the Mac version. Maybe I'll wait to hear some user reports. Sounds great though. It is really the speed of the transfers though that is the problem - how many times am I going to wait all night to download a half hour show? Is this just my problem? Anyone able to transfer these video files any faster over a wifi network?
