Remote response problems with 6.3b?

Several times now when hitting FF to go through commercial breaks on a recorded program, I hear the 3 'bongs' but I'm only in FF-1 speed, and I can't get anything to respond.

I'll continue to press FF, or play... or RW....and the sound effects of the remote button press are there....but nothing happens.

Last night I was able to get out of it by going to DTV Central, but this has happened to me 3-4 times.

Anybody else having this problem?

Is it only when you do FF that you have no remote response?

I'd check for IR interference, it's possible that there is IR interference in the room that when the FF signal is sent the TiVo then it can't respond to any new commands.

Do the front panel buttons respond?

Nope, panel buttons don't respond either, and it's happend while rewinding as well.

What's weird is I know the unit is receiving the command from the remote, cuz it's making the TiVo effects sounds on the TV when I'm hitting the buttons.

I also have remote issues. I notice that the light flashes on the HR10, but, it may take up to 5 sec for action to happen. Sometimes the tivo queue's the request but usually only first command is processed.

Ever since the initial SW upgrade (6.3a?) a few months ago I noticed that the unit would respond kookily to FFW'd as well as 30 second skips....it would make the noise but wouldn't go to the 2nd/3rd FFW"D speed. One way I got it to "go" was to hit the clear button so the green bar went away on the bottom of the screen...but it would only "go" to the 2nd FFW'D button push...not the 3rd.

In addition, I've had issues on all 4 when trying to get the unit to STOP FFW'D (i.e pressing play) when I'm at the spot I want to be.

This annoyance along with the To Do List/Wishlist/Someone in your F'ing Household has Modified Your F'ing Season Pass fiasco has started to really chafe my shortz.

Yikes! I feel for you. Curious, are all 4 of your HR10s in the same room, or different rooms? How many different rooms?

All 4 are in separate rooms. 4 separate rooms.

I have 2 SD Tivo's but I haven't really used them too often to see if the remotes on those units are exhibiting wacky behavior as well.

Well, it happend again last night, and what's happening IMO is that the button presses are 'piling up' while not responding....and by additionally pressing the remote commands, even more are queing up making it more difficult for the unit to 'catch up.'

I found that when I press FF 3x and it only responds to FF-1....if I wait 20 seconds or so it will eventually catch up and work properly.

I've seen this happen on my slower units running 3.1xx as the hd fills up, but this is the first time it's happened to me on 6.3.
