"The new logo will focus on the “A” in BBC America. As a grade, that letter connotes excellence, she (general manager Kathryn Mitchell ) noted, and the letter will be at the center of three concentric circles, creating what network officials quip is their “bulls-A.”

More changes:

- “a little Brit different.” tag line

- on-air navigation messaging

= = =

I stopped watching much of their content when they had the huge white "BBC America" logo that was nearly a third as wide as a typical TV screen. I'm afraid that the new logo may be a solid white one as large or larger than the worst of the A&E variety.

The tag line is not that interesting.

And, the "on-air navigation messaging" sounds like it may be truly offensive if it going to pop up during shows like the most annoying ones do on other networks.

I stopped watching SPIKE TV for almost the same thing. Always popping up with a scrolling on the bottom of the screen. Could never handle watching a Trek episode sqeezed and pulled wide.
If it was not that I love the CLOSER so much I would stop watching TNT. That crap they pull in the right corner every time a new show is coming up. Its very annoying. Happens almost every 5 minutes. Can't we enjoy the show without all the WHATS COMING NEXT junk.
Its almost like football on Sunday. Not even done with the first quarter and they are already talking about the great game next week. PLEASE....lets live for today.

A bit of background about me at this time of year - For me, the Logo games for local channels during the NFL games has begun.

The winner so far is our FOX43 channel. For most of the first half of their game on Sunday, they tried to keep their Logo somewhere on the screen. As you know, graphics now pop up nearly everywhere during a game. Their solution was to move their Logo somewhere else every time they blocked something - what Fun ! Really what fun ? Some poor smuck had to be sitting somewhere doing this.

Logo garbage always gets me. The all time winner was our local CBS channel which debuted a new Logo during a Super Bowl broadcast a few years ago. At the time I had just a 27" tv. Their new Logo was fixed into the lower right part of the screen. I measured it and (if I recall correctly) it was 6" by 5" a solid blue and white 'eye' with a 21 through it. Arghhhh#, it never came off the screen during the game no matter what it may have been blocking at the time. I called the station and was greeted by a man who was obviously ticked off at being bothered. I wonder how many calls he had that night.

My other Logo gripes are just too numerous to be written here.

I, now, expect the worst.

Shrug. Unless the logo obscures something important, I don't care. It has on SciFi channel when they were advertising another show and the animation and the sound obscured something in the show.

I haven't even noticed the present BBCA logos.

I just wish Cox would put it back in the basic/analog tier where it belongs :( (I can't justify digital cable just for the one channel... and it really is the only channel up there I would watch...)
