Best way to get an additional S2 DT & Separate S3 Lifetime Question

My parents finally made the move to HD and I convinced them to get an S3 (which they got from Costco). They currently have an S1 with lifetime and a regular S2

Questions:

They should move the lifetime from the S1 to the S3, right? (for $199)

They also want to replace out the S1 with an S2 DT. Is the best way to get one from Tivo.com? It seems like you can get it for $69.99 without worrying about rebates. They would also sign up for a 3 year commitment which would put the new S2 DT at $6.95/month, right?

In order to get the $6.95/month MSD rate, you have to get one from other stores, not tivo.com because TiVo sells packages only.

Yes (assuming your S1 is not one of the old grandfathered TiVos that you can get one free transfer with.)
