Hiya:
On the phone w/ customer service (now at 30 minutes...) and they told me I cannot do the transfer because I activated my Series 3 and it's been past 30 days?
Anyone else had this experience? Here's what I thought are the original t&cs? I see nothing about 30 day activation time limit....

Details:
Purchased series 3 11/06. Ordered month to month to get it up and running.
Trying to transfer lifetime from Sony SVR-3000, series 2 dvr. Lifetime purchased in 2003.
Now been on hold for 52 minutes waiting for 'next level' support.
Update at 1 hour, 8 minutes:
Chatted w/ level 2 representative. Basically told me they need to cancel the account and give me an early termination waiver and then they can do the switch. Because it is outside of the 30 day activation period any changes would trigger an early termination fee. So now being routed to cancellation. Apparently they can handle it all. More to come....yes...1 hour of my life thus far spent on this.
Update at 1 hour 19 minutes:
Now talking to the cancellation agent she tells me they actually do not authorize cancellation waivers. She is now hunting someone down who can. Wow....the saga continues.
Final update at 1 hour 42 minutes:
Finally transferred. Termination fee for 1 year waived.
Hopefully this serves as a guide for others out there.
Lesson learned, don't procrastinate=).
