It looks like I'm one of the lucky few who has had very few problems with 6.3a - only a one truncated recording and a couple of 1/2 hour or 1 hour recordings that show to be 6 or 12 hours long, but now I'm having an odd problem.
I just got a new TV last Monday; due to the new TV having a different form factor, I totally rearranged my A/V setup - went from having all of my gear on a stereo rack to putting it all under the TV on a TV stand. Also, since the new TV has an HDMI connection and the old one didn't, I connected up the HR10 via HDMI. Since I'd never used the HDMI output and I knew there had been a lot of issues w/ HDMI, I also connected the HR10 via component cables.
Anyway, it rained all last weekend, including the Monday when I set up the new TV. Once I had everything connected and working, I notices a buzzing sound on my telephone. My 1st suspicion was it was coming in on the phone line - my neighborhood has all underground utilities, and I've had noisy phone lines in the past when there was a lot of rain - but when it continued after a relative dry spell, I decided to dig a bit deeper, especially since the HR10 keeps failing when it tries to call out (it says "no dial tone", which I can believe since I can hardly hear the dial tone over the buzzing). After ruling out my cordless phone as the cause (I suspected it first since it's old and has survived at least one dunking in the hot tub  ), I tried disconnecting the phone line going to the HR10 - and the buzzing went away! I've tried rearranging the cables, but the phone line has to either go over or under the other cables to the HR10, and nothing I've done helps.
So, has anyone heard of issues with an HR10 causing so much phone line noise that it can't hear the dial tone?
