Lot of talk about Comcast; haven't seen anything about Cablevision.

Just got an Plasma set and have the option of going from Series 2 to Series 3, or switching to Cablevision/Optimum cable box/DVR.

Anyone have good/bad stories of doing this?

It's all relative. What may be ridiculous to you is pocket change for some.

I paid more than $700 for my original DVD changer, and at that time, the going rate for an OTA ATSC digital tuner was about $1000+. The S3 has two OTA ATSC tuners and they're miles above what was availble a few years ago.

If you search around the Tivo Community and AVS Forums, it won't take you long to find entire legions of people who can't stand the generic DVRs offered by the Cable monopolists.

Personally, I'm a TiVo fan. I love mine. Both of 'em. And the S3 ROCKS!

Don't know how you missed it, but the very first post -Offical (spelling error, but the starter hasn't fixed it) Cablecard threads, click it and you will be able to read about Cablevision installs. There are more than 10 pages of posts!
