Hi,

I have been collecting TiVo points for about a year now and have gotten TiVo at least 5 subscriptions through friends and family. I am now reading on the TiVo rewards FAQ that they will not ship to Canada. I can't believe there is no way for me to get my well deserved reward just because I live in Canada.

Can TiVoPony or someone please tell me what I can do or who I can speak to about this. I am very disappointed as this should have been clearly stated in the registration or join page for TiVo rewards so that us Canadians don't waste our time trying to get more business for TiVo. I know 5 new subscriptions is probably nothing to TiVo but this is just not fair.

They won't do anything for ya.. it took them years to allow Canadians to subscribe, and even over a year later.. their system still won't accept a Canadian address, you have to have a CSR enter it manually. Leo, WY... yeah right.

You'll probably see tivo rewards available to Canadians right about the same time you see units in retail up here.. when hell freezes over.

Do you have any friends or relatives living in USA that you could use their address and have them re-ship to you?

Will that work, shipping to an american address? If so, sweet. I too have been racking up my points and would love to be able to finally redeem them. Has anyone tried sending your tivo reward merch. to someone else's address???

No, but I see no reason why you couldn't.

In the FAQ of the program, it says: "TiVo can only ship within the 50 United States of America and the District of Columbia. TiVo cannot ship internationally to countries such as Canada and Mexico, or to any U.S. territories, including Puerto Rico"...but no other limitations (as far as I can see) are specified.

Good luck.

I successfully redeemed by TIVOPoints for a reward which I had shipped to the American address of a friend. I then picked it up the next time I was travelling thru that area, but my friend had offered to ship the unit onwards.

Warning: You will pay customs & duties on the unit so come prepared with information backing up the value of the unit. Otherwise customs will pick a value of their discretion.

Mark the customs form as 'gift'. Never had duty charged (yet).

I am also from Canada and have joined the rewards points program and have over 25,000 points. Is there nothing TiVo will do for us. Could they not give us a lifetime service for one TiVo as this would not need to be shipped?

I regularly have my rewards items shipped to an alternative address. Just overwrite the default that appears when you order your item.
