Have been reading various thread's about what people are upset with, with Tivo. I would like to see what sort of good things that Tivo has done this year. My selection for the best that they have done, this year, is:
The Dual Tuner Tivo.
What I really like is the fact that I can record digital programs and also record 2 things at once, vice recording from my SD-400 or 540 and having to switch to the TV while it's/they are recording.
Anyone else have a "good thing" report from last year?? :)

There was a little thing called the "Series 3"...
The tivo wireless adapter was the very end of last year, but I would say that, plus the revised TTG/Tivo Desktop plus. It's been great having my tivos networked, being able to archive shows on an external drive, and having an easy, reliable (and licensed) way to watch shows onto my laptop.
Thanks Tivo!

besides the DT and S3, which were great hardware advancements, last year was just a warmup. Lots of infrastructure in place for TiVo to build on

They've had 5 days, and I haven't seen anything worthwhile from them this year.
Oh, last year? Series 3, now that I finally got Charter to get my CableCARDs working.

I think the cable card S3 and the fact that most cable providers support it is brilliant. Totally saves me from a harrowing fate with DirecTV's HR20 DVR. The next thing would be the integration with Comcast and Cox STB's, but I don't know if that was something TiVo went after or the other way around. Either way, when those become available, it will be the answer to what DirecTV failed to do. Now if only Charter would jump on bandwagon.

I would say TTG for Mac.... Oh, wait, we still don't have that...

I wish I could say how they updated the Tivio Desktop to support music better, but I can't. Tivo has not changed the way music works since the day they released it several years ago ...
I wish I could say how they added the ability to view the todo list via a web client, but I can't.
I just made room for my Vista Media Center PC and only kept the Tivo in there because of the Wife Acceptance Factor. Must slowly introduce new technology ... ;)

Maybe time to trade in for wife 2.0. I hear she's web programmable.

The best thing Tivo has done is the addition of "clipping" and the ability to add a few minutes to the end of shows to be recorded. This feature should have been in the first original release of the Tivo, and is a little embarrassing that it took them years to add it - but it IS a good thing they did in 2006. Unless they did it in 2005. I forget.
