I just got my Series 3 for Christmas and installed it. It's working fine except the 30-second skip modification does not work even though I used the same formula as for my older Tivo unit (Select Play Select 3 0 Select).
Series 3 software is 8.0.1c (not a, like some have reported). Did Tivo change the software so the skip doesn't work now? Any others have problems?

Try it again while you are watching a recorded show, not during live TV. I'm sure you did, but I also think you have to complete the sequence in a fairly short time. I know my Dad sometimes doesn't get it fast enough.
Good luck

My 30-sec skip works fine. Already a thread here on this topic, as well as included in other threads.

Well, I tried the suggestion about pressing the buttons fast and that didn't help. But then I used my Series 2 remote control and it now works perfectly. So there is something wrong with the Series 3 remote, although it does the 30-second skip now that Series 2 has programmed it.

It works for me - but it doesn't seem to hold - I have to reset every day or so.

It works for me - but it doesn't seem to hold - I have to reset every day or so.That means your TiVo is rebooting...that's usually the only way it toggles off (other than the operator toggling it off).

Yeah, I had to leap to the thread about Series 3 and when I power off the TV what happens. I get snow and have to power off and power back on the system.
