Has anyone called VIP lately? This is my 3rd go around calling tonight, transferred three times ("sorry, wrong department, I will put you RIGHT through to the correct dept) and now its 85 minutes and counting. Is this normal?

My 2nd and 3rd (early and late December) VIP transfers were done inside on 5 minutes from when I picked up the phone.
My 1st one (Early November '06 activation) I was on hold forever.

Dumb question - did you dial the number on your Tivo or the 1-866-424-8486 from the VIP page?
It still cracks me up that the VIP line is 1-866-gag-Tivo ;)

Funny, I called the one from Tivo and got right through. The whole phone call was about 5 minutes. I also had to call them for support and that total call was about 10 - 15 minutes and resaults is they are sending me a new HDMI cable. I haven't had the support or long hold issues others have had. Guess I am lucky.
Of course I was on hold for about 30 minutes trying to call Best Buy to replace my lightbulb in my TV. It went tonight :( Good thing for waranties :) Bad thing is they can't be out here until Wednesday :(

Wait times might be lower if you call earlier in the day. I've called TiVo support several times (sigh) and had between zero and 2 minute waits before 4pm PST. YMMV.
Quit your job, start your own company and make your own hours. This will free up the time you need during the day. :D

You guys are lucky, I logged about 12-14 hours waiting for a CSR to pick up for the VIP Transfer. I finally contacted Tivo Pony so they could call me direct to do the transfer.
I am calling from Alaska, so I am still curious on if their call center routes calls on location. It was frustrating in the least, the longest I waited on the phone in one stretch was 3 hours.

Well there's your problem. All of the CSRs nearby are frozen. :D

This is exactly why I gave my wife the Tivo3 a week BEFORE christmas... :)
