Philips Series one Tivo not responding to remote

My Philips Series One Tivo was loaded a day ago and working with a Comcast digital Motorola box but now when I try to use the remote, there is no response. It's as if there were no batteries in it. Is there a common problem or hookup fault thru the coaxial cable connections of the Comcast box to Tivo or do I have a software problem?
