I recently bought the tivo desktop plus and have been trying to figure out how to convert my older .tivo files (as plus only converts new transfers). I figured that all you need to do is call the tivo converter program from a command line like so:
"C:\Program Files\TiVo\Desktop\TivoConverter.exe" /profile="MPEG-4" /delete 0x00000000 "C:\Media\tivo\Ugly Betty - ''Fey's Sleigh Ride'' (Recorded Dec 21, 2006, WJLA).TiVo"
This is the command line I was able to capture from tivo desktop. I ran this on my own with a different file (and without the /delete 0x00000000) and my older file transfered without a problem. One thing to note though it that the converter grabbed 82% of my cpu (p4 3.2 ht). A 30 min show took me about 20 minutes to convert.
