I have two hacked 4.0.1b DTivos (HDVR2) and they have been working great until recently one got stuck on the powering up... screen. Anyways I tried to restore the drive but I believe the partition map got messed up and since I didn't know how to restore the partitions I decided to just buy a new drive and start clean.
So I finished restoring the 4.0.1b image (Decided to keep 4.01 since I already have a good image) and followed the instructions I previously used. Everything worked fine however when I booted it up in the tivo it still wants to make the initial call. I thought for sure that fakecall.tcl would have fixed this but for some reason I can't set /change the connection settings to use the USB Network card.
I know it recognizes the USB NIC because it says it found a network card in messages however still when I go into modem and network settings it wants me to finish setting up by dialing in for the inital call.
Anyone have a clue what I did wrong? Here is the guide I followed before:

and I checked the rc.sysinit.author file several times and its all ok. THe only strange thing that I noticed during setup was that a rc.sysinit.author file didn't already exist. I was thinking that it should have been there already.
I've install busybox and the fakecall.tcl is in that directory and I even created another directory tivo-bin and placed it in there and added it to the PATH...still no luck.
THis has got to be something simple. I've also restarted the Tivo several times and performed a Delete All...etc
Thoughts...suggestions?
Are there any logs I can look at? I don't have a serial cable so that itsn't an option currently.
