R10/Hitachi 42HDS69/OFA6131 Remote

I have this OFA remote (6131) set up to work my Hitachi TV. Problem is...when I go to exit a sub menu with the exit button it works fine, but it will not exit the main menu with the exit button on the remote. Any ideas or thoughts??

Try the Live TV button. The left arrow will also back out one level.

You're asking about the tv commands right? while in the menu you want to exit from, tap SET and enter either 2-2-9 or 1-9-6.

Probably right there Edmund. Since this is the DirecTV TiVo forum I assumed the OP was referring to the TiVo.

Sorry...I was talking about the Hitachi TV. I may have posted in the wrong forum....I had seen other such questions here. Thanks for the replys.

If I hit Set and 196 it will clear the main menu. Do I have to enter that each time to come out or is there a way to store that code with the TV function so the exit button alone will clear it?

Yes you can map that to a key:

1. tv
2. press and hold SET for two blinks
3. enter 9-9-4
4. tap SET for one blink
5. enter 1-9-6
6. pick a key
