I downloaded a movie from Tivo to my computer using Tivo2Go which transferred fine except it did not convert a copy for transferring to my Ipod because I did not have enough hard drive space on my C drive (plenty of space on my D drive, but the software won't let you save the converted files to any drive other than the C drive I have since learned). So now I have deleted enough programs on my C drive for future transfers. Meanwhile, I still want to convert the earlier downloaded movie to ipod format, but don't know if there is a way this can be done. I can't do a new download of the movie, because it has been deleted from my Tivo (it is still on my computer in the Tivo2go downloads). Any suggestions? I read somewhere in these boards that files can be transferred TO the Tivo dvr--how is this done?
Thanks much.

You should see an icon of a PC at the bottom of your Now Playing List on your Tivo. Click on it to see all the shows you've transferred to your PC (that are still in the My Tivo Recordings folder). If you don't see that icon on your Tivo, you probably have a firewall issue.

Thanks much. I'll give it a try.

There is a KB article on Tivo's site that details what format files need to be in to transfer back. This is important if you want to transfer non Tivo files. Videora works great for converting to proper spec BTW.

So if I want to transfer my home digital movies to Tivo, I capture the movies using MyDVD or Adobe Premiere, then export to Videora for formatting before the transfer to Tivo?
Question #2: And then if I want to view those movies on my Ipod, I have to transfer the movie from Tivo back to the computer using the Tivo2Go program to create a conversion file that I can view on my Ipod (I have a video Ipod that I would like to show my home movies on)? Is there an easier way to do this?

Depends what format they come out of those apps as. If they are not MPEG-2 and the proper bit-rate, then I would say yes.

There has to be other software that can be used to convert your home movies straight to your Ipod skipping the Tivo round trip. I don't have an Ipod, so I don't really know what's out there.
May also want to look at Harmony's AutoPilot. Hear about it all the time, but never tried it.

To convert a file already transfered you need to run the tivo converter from the commad line. I just put up a post about it (although I don't know how to link my post yet).
