Tivo video editing

I couldn't find this question posted yet, but I was wondering if there was any program or download (free?) that would work to edit out the commercials from my tivo recordings on my computer. I have the reg. key from tivo that allows me to convert to ipod, so i'm hoping to find an editor that is compatible to what I'm trying to do. Any ideas?

VideoReDo is the king of commercial editing. It is not free. $50

Not sure how it would fit into TivoDesktop Plu$ either. I don't have plus version, but I think you have use something like Tivo Converter Wrapper to reprocess the files.

Yes, what you'd want to do is turn off the automatic conversion feature in TiVo Desktop. Then edit the TiVo file in VideoReDo and output it as a .tivo file. Then finally use TiVo Converter Wrapper to convert the files to iPod format.
