I stumbled upon a post in TiVo's official help forum about this and can't find it again...
It said that if you go to open TiVo Desktop in Mac and hold down the Apple Key that it gives you a hidden tab labeled "Videos" so that you can stream video to your TiVo much the way you can music and photos.

I've tried this and I get the Videos tab. It let's you pick which folder you'd like be viewable by your TiVo (which I selected) and it asks for the Media Access Key. I enter it but there's no kind of button to submit the key for the computer to "accept" it. If I then go to my TiVo units I can still see my music available for streaming but there's still no folder of available videos.

Anyone know why I can't see available videos? Also, does anyone know what video files extensions it supports?

Where are you looking? If all is well, a folder at the bottom of Now Playing named for your computer will appear.

This is not the same location as Music and Photos.

Your files have to be in a pretty specific format... detailed here:

Conversions can be done via ffmpegx or a nifty utility called TiVoizer - search for it on VersionTracker or MacUpdate

thx TydalForce... I can't use TiVoizer, though, as it's PowerPC only (and I have an Intel Mac), but I'll look into ffmpegx once I have some time to spend with it (Unless anyone knows of any other programs that do the whole conversion).

Check out a program called Visual Hub. It can put things in the format your TiVO likes and I think is less confusing than ffmpeg X. It is a Universal Binary but will cost you about $24.00 US. The up side is it does a number of other conversions as well.

Visual Hub is what I use. Great app.

You can use it, it should run through Rosetta. OK, maybe not as fast as if it was a Universal Binary but it should work
